I believe the purpose of design is not to make information beautiful. It is to make understanding easier.
That philosophy was shaped while supporting the President’s Daily Brief, where I designed visual intelligence for some of the nation’s most senior decision-makers. The subject matter could span geopolitics, terrorism, military capabilities, cyber threats, technology, economics, or elections, but the challenge remained the same: take something complex and make it clear, accurate, and immediately understandable.
Working in that environment fundamentally changed the way I approach design.
